 Profile: Oliver Whelan is a Multi Media artist working from Dublin. He has exhibited in major solo shows in Australia, Mexico, Britain, and Ireland, and has represented his country in Europe and Australia. He has also had extensive representations in-group exhibits organized by the state, art critics, institutions and galleries. He gave a lecture on his practice at TATE Britain in 2003 as part of a conference on ‘Digital Surface within fine Art Practice’. At present he is a director of Civic Media, A company that displays Art within an urban context, with the use of large photograph images on hoardings and banners. Invited artist to RHA ’07.

 

Over the twenty years working as an Artist, Oliver has received a number of major awards. One of which was the Australian European award, which covered a study period of one year in Australia, and included a studio, extensive travel and exhibition. He also received awards from Richard Demarco, for travel throughout Europe with Exhibition. A Department of Foreign Affairs exhibition awards, with a number of other travel, exhibition and Bursary awards. He was the founder member of the first Artist studio / complex in Ireland, and has also been a committee member of the Irish Exhibition of living Art, one of Irelands Premier Exhibitions, He was also a Board member and Chairperson of CIRCA, an Irish and International arts Magazine.

 

Research; Art and science, in particular the relationship to art and theories within quantum physics.

MARCIN KOWALIK, paintings, tutor at the Art Academy in Cracaw
Marcin Kowalik was born in Zamosc in 1 981 and he graduated from the local high school of fine arts.
From 2001 – 2006 he studied painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the workshop of
professor Adam Wsiołkowski. Under his supervision he also achieved the PhD degree. Currently he
takes the position of his assistant in his workshop.
Kowalik performs painting and art within the scope of installations, object and performance
.
He is an organizer, art curator and artistic supervisor.
He was a scholarship holder of many scholarship programmes, for example of Minister of Culture and
National Heritage (2001 ), The President of Zamosc (2002), Crosskick Academie, Berlin (2007), PhD
Scholarship of Academy of Fines Art in Cracow (2008), Ateliers Höherweg 271 , Düsseldorf (2008),
Grazzell’s scholarship (2009) and The Scholarship of creative President of Cracow City (201 1 ).
Currently, he lives and creates in Cracow and in his private life he is a husband and father of two sons.

Tommy Barr is a Northern Ireland based painter, born in Dromore and with his studio in Banbridge. He has spent most of his working life in these small towns on the outskirts of the capital city, Belfast

Tommy Barr

 

DAN RAUL PINTEA was born August 3, 1981, in Romania. He studied fine arts at the University of Arts and Design from Cluj Napoca (RO), were he also sustained his MA in 2006. He worked there for a year as an Silskscreen Tehnician, but seeing that he cannot develop his own projects he returned to Sibiu, to prioritize his thoughts.

Aware of their power he quickly become interested in expressing them trough direct, efficient, visual tools. His work and overall approach to art is rather untypical but at the same time they reflect inoculation situation in culture and society.

Since 2007 he exhibited at Ivan Gallery (RO), 26 Gallery (RO), Anca Poterasu Gallery (RO), Victoria Art Centre (RO), Sala Dalles (RO), Trypthycon (DE), Visual Kontakt (DE), Program Gallery (PL).

Now he is represented by Anca Potersau Gallery, with whom he participated to Preview Art Fair from Berlin, in 2011
